A heart healed... a love song found...

Yeah, I haven't been here in a long time. The last time I posted here, I was quite devistated by the confession of my last post. Since then, there has been a rather positive turn of events. Ah, listen to me talking like a damn school teacher from the 18th century. Point is, though I was really pissed and depressed that Matt is gay, I've moved on in the best possible way: I have a boyfriend.

But it gets a little complicated. You see, he lives in Maryland, USA. I live in Ontario, Canada. We've known each other for over a year online; we share a lot of interests. Eventually it came to be that we realized how much we liked each other, and became a couple.

(Resuming school-teacher typing habits)

Below are the lyrics to a song that I like to think of as our first song:

Meet me after dark again and I'll hold you
I am nothing more than to see you there
And maybe tonight, we'll fly so far away
We'll be lost before the dawn

If only night can hold you where I can see you, my love
Then let me never ever wake again
And maybe tonight, we'll fly so far away
We'll be lost before the dawn

[Chorus]

Somehow I know that we can't
Wake again from this dream
It's not real, but it's ours

Maybe tonight, we'll fly so far away
We'll be lost before the dawn
Maybe tonight, we'll fly so far away
We'll be lost before the dawn

This song reminds me of how much I want to see him and be with him; how I would love to run away with him and I wait for the moment when we can finally meet face to face. Incidentally, my vocal class is taking a trip to New York in May, and he says that he'll try to meet me there.

I'm so fond of him; I think I love him. But do I? Or am I so young and eager and wanting to love him that I think I do? I'm afraid that I won't know until I've seen him in person...

A Letter to Matt

Dear Matt;

Words can't express the way my heart fell this week, when you showed me the picture of the person you had chosen to be with, not a girl, but a guy. I had no idea.

I gave you a thumbs up and said 'That's cool'. I lied. For months, the highlight of my day was to see you, usually waiting for me in your desk beside mine in class. I used to muse to myself that it was fate that had put you there, that had made you choose the seat beside the one I had chosen the day before, when I hadn't even known you existed.

During the summer when you suggested sharing an apartment, my heart all but lept out of my chest. But now it falls, feeling as though it has been drained of blood, and filled with tears.

I can't hate you for who and what you are; you cannot choose not to be gay any more than I can choose not to be straight. But I can't help but wonder how I could have missed this, how I could have been so stupid as to not notice this in you. The irony of knowing you has been bittersweet at best now, and I don't know what to do.

I cried that day in English class; I cried again that night, writing this letter in my head to you. I cried the next day, recounting my story to my social workers assistant, and I am near tears again as I type this for all the cyber-world to see.

I doubt I will ever say these words to you. It hurts enough that I'm almost tempted to avoid you. I'm afraid that if I start to tell you, all of my now-meaningless feelings will only widen the hole that this has created in my heart. So I guess I'll have to wait for the start of the school-week to find out, and hopefully survive another week without a heart there to help me breathe.

Sincerely,

Stephanie

Grateful Hero 3: The Legacy of the Goblin

That's right, folks. It's here. I'm nearly finished writing it.

http://www.superherohype.com/forums/showthread.php?t=189743

I'm finished school now. I didn't get the job at Heroes Comics(the owner had too many people). Instead, I will soon be giving time-outs to little trouble-makers at a community centre. Woo-hoo.

I really don't have that much else to say. For awhile now, I've had an idea for a movie that could actually happen; a Lion King Prequel. Sorry, no details. Chances are that if you're reading this, I've already told you.

Well, my english teacher didn't show up. That's obvious from the lack of comments.

My life sucked this week for several reasons, but I'm not going to bother getting into details. Byebye for now, people.

Music of the Night, baby...

Ever since last Friday, when the Musical Theatre class had their exams, which were singing solos on stage, I have been utterly obsessed with The Phantom of the Opera. Not so much the movie (it had some funny inconsistancies, such as Raoul refusing to believe that the Phantom exists, when a guy had just been hung on the stage and Christine tells him that she saw him), but the music, which is awesome, and fortunately takes up about 92% of the movie.

About these exams I was talking about... let me describe what happened. A girl goes onto the stage and begins the first verse, which is beautifully done. In the pause before the second verse(note, he was not on the programme), a guy comes out of no where, wearing a tux-like coat and with his hair hanging in his face. I think there was a collective gasp in the audience as he appeared, and began to sing the second verse. It was beautiful. There was even an acting element to it, as the two circled around the stage, the girl mock-reaching for his face. They were awesome, but Josh(last name taken out 'cause I respect his privacy) completely stole the show. I was a bit disappointed when he followed up later with a rather upbeat, fast song in which you could barely hear his singing ability.

Dispite my love for the music of this movie, I have in mind an idea for a parody of it, making fun of Raoul's ignorance, Christine's confusion about pretty much everything, and a number of things tied to these topics. I watched the special features the other day, and actors seem so strange to me: why is it that the guys always show up in baseball caps with unshaven faces? I mean, there's Gerard Butler in front of a recording microphone in a baseball hat and a week's worth of beard, singing the first few lines of 'Music of the Night', a sexy, dark, awesome song. And he looks as though he just rolled out of bed. Not to diss him though; he is quite good-looking, and he was awesome in this movie.

So yeah, after hearing Josh and the girl and listening to the soundtrack, I have decided to enroll in the Musical Theatre class, even if I learn nothing more than how to finish the ridiculusly high notes at the end of Phantom of the Opera. I have only one exam left, before I'm free for the summer. It's all but confirmed that I'll be working at Heroes Comics soon, so that'll be interesting. 'Bye for now. I must go sing...

Been very lazy lately

A.k.a. I have been getting a bit of a 'life', as non-geeks call it. Kidding. But not really. I haven't been updating my story as much and I haven't worked on any other writing commitments. I've been having a lot of progress in writing my story; I'm actually partially into Grateful Hero 3: Legacy of the Goblin. And a great thing is, the 'voice', as I have nick-named Harry and Norman's collective insanity, actually quotes said title in the latest chapter I'm working on.

Another quote I'm hoping to include is something I saw in English class: 'To realize one's own destiny is a person's only obligation'. I think that would be an awesome line for Norman or 'the voice' to say, either to Peter, or to Harry, I haven't made up my mind yet. I also am still stuck on the 'final' final battle. I've dropped enough hints around here, and in the threads. You know who it will involve. Those of you(you know, if I'm not talking to myself here) who have seen me post about Harry's fate in the movies know what I want to happen:

SPOILER!!!

Harry will become the seond Green Goblin. He will be controlled by the voice(whom I'm starting to think of as simply 'The Goblin'), and fueled by hatred. He will be confused, angry, hurt, high on power and possiblilities, all the while remaining in the dark about the fact that Norman is alive. Heck, he's practically next door.

In the latest complete chapter that I wrote, Norman hires a bunch of ex-cons and similar types to transport Goblin gear he has stashed away to a new location. Of course, the ex-cons go in blind, having no idea what it is they're going to be moving. They're shocked to discover that it is the Goblin equipment they're after, but do it anyway. Of course, knowing Norman, he doesn't want any witnesses. He just kinda pops out of nowhere in the suit and kills them all. It's a very dramatic chapter, writen partially from one of the men's point of view(easier to show the surprise).

I am currently working on the scene in which Harry breaks out of the hospital, takes up his father's 'legacy', and bombs the crap out of the hospital so that there won't be any record of him being there. I'm planning on having Harry crash MJ and Peter's wedding, talking to MJ a la SSM 200(issue where Harry dies), and the first... that's right, ladies and gents... the first true aerial battle over New York.

I'm not sure what Norman will do during this period, or whether Harry should know before the 'final fight', but he's certainly not going to twidle his thumbs the entire remainder of the story. Another issue is the final battle itself; 3 people are supposed to die. I'm not sure in which order, or how, but they must. Harry must die after defending Peter. That is an absolute must. In one chapter, Harry must beat the crap out of Peter, then realize what the hell he's doing and come back to himself, only to have his own father kill him by accident while Norman is trying to kill Peter. Then, Norman must die, as well as Devon.

I believe that Norman must kill Devon, probably after he kills Harry. Perhaps, as is tradition, Norman will attempt to take a loved one hostage. He knows this is his only chance against both an outraged Peter, and an equally furious Alexia. This story is becoming less and less about Alexia, unfortunately. She is still the quirky heroine, but her relationship with Devon becomes secondary to Peter and MJ's marriage and Harry's ongoing suffering at the hands (voice?) of a ghost.

END SPOILER!!!

Also, this weekend I have seen Revenge of the Sith for the third time, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith(don't ya just love that title? Inside joke). They were both awesome. During my second screening of ROTS, I was unforunate enough to go with someone with bronchitus(sp?), who I think needed a Vader breathing mask more than Anakin did.

I don't really care for the whole Angelina/Brad stuff going on. They are, quite possibly, the most sexy people alive. Angelina herself has said that she would not be involved with a man who is married, because of a similar situation with her father, and I believe her. If they are, all the power to them and I'm glad Brad didn't stay in an unhappy marriage. If they aren't, well, then leave them be, you attention-grabbing media pigs :(.

Oh, and just in case she stops by...

HI, MRS. SMITHER!!!

[I don't even know if she's married. Please forgive the typo if you are not]

If you're here, sign up at Blogger.com and give me a shout. If not... well, I'll be sure to tell ya about it on Monday and remind you ;).

And the villain has arrived...

I've got 2 new chapters up; Harry's flip out scene while talking to Peter, and Electro's origin. A funny thing hapened yesterday. I stopped by Spidey's blog, and he had a little story about a similar situation to what happened with Max.

Let me tell you a little about Max. He's a university student(as are the majority of my characters. No Vulture here ;p). His family is similar to MJ's; abusive father, passive mother, left home, blah, blah, blah... but he's more affected by his upbringing. He became a control freak, and when he got a girlfriend... well, he just couldn't let her go. You know the story.'I love you, don't leave me', not letting her see friends, limiting the time she spent with her family, and finally, threatening to kill her and himself if she tried to leave him. Quite a bit different than the comic history... personally, I like control-freaks better than petty thugs in terms of villains. He should prove to be an interesting opponent for our heroes... I just hope I can get the action sequences right. I suck at those.

I also created a new and improved sountrack for the Grateful Hero series, featuring songs about pretty much every character in the story...

I'm thinking about changing my SHH! avatar to a moving ad for GH... pics of the major characters and their alter-egos. I have a feeling that these next few chapters are going to be fun... relationships are changed, strengthened, weakened... it'll be awesome to write, but you'll just have to wait and see :).

Oh, and on a more personal note, I'll be participating in a talent search at my school on Thursday. I'm teaming up with a classmate of mine(he'll be playing piano, and I'll be singing). I'll be sure to get back to you about it next weekend. Well, as always, please leave comments. I like to think that I'm not just talking to myself on here...

Grateful Hero 2: When Sparks Fly

Yes, I did steal the name from the animated series, but it's appropriate for this story; People fall in love, fall out of love, build on their relationships. Oh, and I've got Electro for my villain :). But it ain't all budding romance. It's angst, pain, jealousy, and hard decisions for my main character. Like a soap opera with super-powers and better actors ;p. As well as posting the story, I also posted 'casting choices' for the characters... pics of my 'original' characters, as well as of movie characters.

http://www.superherohype.com/forums/showpost.php?p=5603993&postcount=36

A little background on Victor and Michael; they worked together on Mutant X. Victor played Brennan, an elemental mutant that can create electricity(ironic for this story, isn't it?), and Michael played a villain named Ashlocke... I don't quite remember what he could do. It's funny, like the roles are a little reversed, but Victor is still the good guy and Michael is still the bad guy. Please let me know what you think of my 'casting choices', and of course, what you think of my story:

I've provided a bit of a spoiler here, but you'll be seeing Max soon, anyway.
